Thinley Choeden aka Samdrub died on 17 Feb 2020, 15 days after being admitted to the Lhasa People’s Hospital. He had served seven years in prison for participating in a series of protests, and was present at a 1987 protest in Lhasa in which a Chinese police station was burned.
