On 24 August 2022, five Tibetans including Chugdar, Gelo, Tsedo, Bhamo, and Kori from Khakor Township, Serthar County in Ganzi (Kardze) Tibet Autonomous Prefecture were arbitrarily arrested and taken into the detention centre in the same County for organising religious activities including incense burning and offering prayers. He has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment in Yak-Nga prison.

The families of the detainees were not allowed to visit them while they were being held captive, and attempts to provide food were also prohibited by the Chinese authorities.
