Tenzin Palsang (Tenga) who served six long years in prison for fabricated political crimes passed away in early November 2022 from prolonged injuries incurred in Chinese police custody. Tenzin Palsang (Tenga) was from Drango (Ch: Luhuo) County's Drango Monastery, where he worked as the senior treasurer at the time of his detention in April 2012, and had no health issues at the time of his detention. During his imprisonment of six years, he was subjected to severe and repeated torture and beatings by the Chinese police as a result of which he became very ill. He passed away in early November 2022.
